On 12 February 2019 the Voivode of Podlasie Bohdan Paszkowski signed agreements for the implementation of two projects related to the renovation of the road border crossing in Kuźnica. The contracts have been signed with two companies selected in the tender procedures. The investment will cost nearly 18.5 mln PLN.

The implementation of the project will improve the service provided at the border crossing, simultaneously increasing the security of customs and border clearance. As part of the investment, the number of entry and exit lanes will be increased from two currently existing to four.
The customs and passport control pavilions will be expanded and additional dynamic weights will be mounted on the entry and exit directions from the Republic of Poland.
A metal shelter protecting customs control place from weather conditions, a new fence system and necessary technical infrastructure will be built.
The event of signing the agreement was attended by representatives of Podlaskie Voivodship Office, the Ministry of Investment and Development, as well as representatives of National Revenue Administration and Border Guards – Director of Revenue Administration Regional Office in Białystok Wojciech Orłowski and Border Guard Commander in Bialystok, Colonel Grzegorz Biziuk.

The construction works at the border crossing are to be completed in March 2020 and the implementation of projects in July 2020.
Financial resources for the implementation of projects are provided by the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 and from the budget of the Voivode of Podlasie for 2019.
